PACA

The first footwear release from Spore utilizes 3D printing technology powered by Zellerfeld, an industry leader in 3D printed shoe manufacturing. Creating 100% recyclable and ethically made footwear. Each pair is 3D printed to order with custom cushion and fit options.

This design was created using Gravity Sketch and is directly inspired by the Paca, a herbivorous rodent in central and south america.

ESCHATON

Eschaton, is an amalgamation of various performance and heritage silhouettes. The concept of decay as a force of nature is usually referred to in disgust, but this design embraces the beauty of this transformation within the form and surface design. Directly inspired by the character Griffith's ascension from the award winning fantasy series Berserk by Kentaro Miura. Last year I developed a staple alien fungal infection embellishment for my designs drawing inspiration from Studio Ghibli's Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind and the film Annihilation. The technique involves combining digitally manipulated bio-prints, soft foaming TPU, and expanding puff screen print ink to symbolize a luxury metamorphosis of fungi. The fungal symbolism of represents the concept of mycelium and life as the veins and web of consciousness holding galaxies together, and the alien fungal infection embellishment serves as a physical extension of this idea.

CONCH

Conch, is a medium progression into merchandise the experimental alien aesthetics within the collection. Directly inspired by Horagai conch shell Japanese military helmets and the Ohmu species exoskeleton’s from Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind. Finalized as a clog mule sandal hybrid, the heel features a midsole compression cave to facilitate recovery, allowing a functional representation of the designs mollusk inspiration. 3D printed with Colorfabb Varioshore, a heat expanding TPU filament (Shore 50A)

The Window - Collaboration with Madeline Helt

My collaboration on Madeline Helt’s senior thesis collection “The Window.” I worked with Madeline to model, prototype, and 3D print her outsole design. Her collection is a range of extreme cold weather outdoor footwear and accessories. This project has been a great learning experience on developing 3D printed functional modular interactive components and working in the outdoors category. I’m so grateful to have worked alongside such a talented group of people.

NEOSAUR

The Spore Neosaur is the first staple product of the Spore brand. Spore aims to provide a xeno-primitive aesthetic. Reimagining old and new silhouettes is the formula that has birthed the Spore Neosaur. The primitive dinosaur texture is achieved through the utilization of ethically sourced exotic materials. The Spore brand has a continuous preference for exotic materials and synthetic imitations. However, we ensure an ethical approach by only utilizing biowaste, materials sourced from invasive species, or a circular lifecycle with synthetics. The preference for exotic and organic textures is rooted in the philosophy that humans as a product of natural forces are permanently programmed to appreciate biological properties. The aggressive reptilian upper is paired with a modern
Vibram sneaker tooling to achieve the desired retro-futuristic aesthetic.

FASHION SCHOLARSHIP FUND 2024 CASE STUDY

A running sneaker collection imagining a more equitable and diverse future of environmentalism.

"Bio-Cloud" is a circular collection of footwear by On Running implementing innovative biomaterials. Engineered in Switzerland, using the most advanced technology possible. Created to expand On Runnings current sustainability commitments, this collection logically integrates an ESG strategy that prioritizes addressing various climate change and human rights issues through responsible and transparent design. The concepts of degrowth and intersectional environmentalism form the basis the collection is built upon, values addressing both societal and environmental concerns.

SAM EDELMAN CAPSULE COLLECTION

Collaborated alongside visionary designer, Sam Edelman, to bring a fresh perspective to footwear. The result is an innovative and exclusive collection of five sneakers created for Nordstrom’s “Make Room for Shoes” campaign aimed at showcasing emerging seasonal trends. Including a 3D Outsole design by myself, Available at Nordstrom Now!
